Nutritional and Herbal Consultations
Dr. Harlan Sparer, Tempe Chiropractor
I have experience in both Nutrition and Herbs from formal education in biochemistry in Chiropractic school. The bulk of what I have learned, however, is from personal and professional experience, and from information received from several elder herbalists lacking an official formal education. Many of these sources have passed on, as I learned in the 1970s and 1980s from them. I also have continued my studies since the 1980s about Aromatherapy.
For several years in the 1980s, I practiced in Queens, NY as an Examining Doctor and Nutritionist. As time has passed, I find myself practicing less of this by choice. I continue to keep up with the topic, and there is more information available on this website relating to recipes, raw chocolate, weight loss, and diabetes. While there is a great deal of information out there on diet, nutrition, and health, I find that most folks are looking for a quick fix without really making change. I feel that a patient really has to be ready and comfortable with making changes. Sadly, this is often a major stumbling block, and decreases my enjoyment in practicing nutrition, hence, I only practice nutrition on my Chiropractic patients, and then only when they are higly motivated to make a change. I will persist on writing about the topic and I continue to teach free classes on a monthly basis on raw chocolate desserts.
