Dr. Harlan Sparer, Tempe Chiropractor
The wonderful efficacy of the Directional Non-Force Technique® is the ability of the Chiropractor to adjust gently and easily in cases of stroke risk and osteoporosis. One of the inherent features of DNFT® is the correction of Subluxation without rotating or suddenly moving the structure to be corrected for alignment and nerve interference. This allows for the correction of Subluxations in a person (or animal) with a minimum of invasiveness and without significantly altering the thrust and methodology in any sized or aged patient.
Essentially, people of all sizes, ages, and shapes have Subluxations. There is an art to the practice of Chiropractic. Part of this is the actual manual practice. My extensive experience with children and perinatal women helps to calm the patient and make it easier to win the trust of children in order to more effectively find out what is wrong by speaking to them. The extreme gentleness of a non force adjustment allays their fears as well. This makes it so children actually like being adjusted.
The gentle correction provided using the DNFT® thumb thrust in a neutral position is a high amplitude, low velocity force which is extremely gentle on the body. New patients often remark that I haven’t done anything and ask me when they will be adjusted. When I remark that I’m finished they are incredulous or dubious. They begin to test the complaint and realize it has been decreased or eliminated. Then a big smile appears.
